1:1 Teaching Assistant

About the Role

We are looking for dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistants to support pupils in schools across Cardiff. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference by providing tailored, individual support to a pupil with additional learning needs.

You will work closely with the class teacher and wider school staff to help the pupil access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential in a supportive and inclusive environment.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a designated pupil
• Assist the pupil in accessing learning activities and adapting tasks where needed
• Support emotional regulation and promote positive behaviour strategies
• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to follow individual support plans
• Contribute to maintaining a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment

What We’re Looking For:

• Previous experience working with children, ideally in a school or SEN setting
• A caring, patient, and supportive approach
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Flexibility and willingness to adapt to pupil needs
• Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3 or equivalent) are desirable but not essential
