1:1 Teaching Assitant

Supply Hive Wales is looking for a warm, reliable, and down-to-earth Teaching Assistant to support primary-aged pupils on a 1:1 basis, working with children with additional learning needs and/or behavioural challenges.
We’re looking for someone who is calm, thrives in a fast-changing environment, and has a genuine passion for supporting children with ALN.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Building a positive, trusting relationship with the child you’re supporting.
• Helping them stay focused and engaged during lessons, adapting tasks where needed.
• Supporting emotional wellbeing and managing any challenging behaviour calmly.
• Supporting classroom activities and delivering individual learning plans.
• Working closely with the class teacher and wider team to ensure consistent support.

What You'll Need:

• Previous experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting.
• A basic understanding of additional learning needs (e.g., Autism, ADHD, Global Developmental Delay, and behavioural challenges).
• Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm, patient, and adaptable in challenging situations.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
