ALN Teaching Assistant

Job Description:
Hours: Monday–Friday | 8:30am–3:30pm (Term time only)
Pay: £93–£98 per day
Location: Cardiff

We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support primary-aged pupils in schools across Cardiff.
This role involves working closely with individual pupils who need additional support – including children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), behavioural and emotional needs, or learning difficulties.

Your day-to-day responsibilities may include:

• Providing dedicated 1:1 support during lessons
• Helping pupils stay engaged and focused with their learning
• Supporting social, emotional, and behavioural development
• Encouraging positive behaviour and independence
• Working alongside the class teacher and SENCO to support learning goals
• Helping create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment

This Role Could Be Perfect If You:

• Have previously worked in a school, SEN provision, care setting, youth work, or support role supporting children or young people with additional behavioural or emotional needs

• Are comfortable providing close 1:1 support throughout the school day, including during lessons, transitions, and break times

• Understand that some days can be challenging, but are motivated by the opportunity to help a child make progress

• Can remain calm, resilient, and positive in challenging or high-pressure situations

• Are passionate about helping pupils who need extra guidance, encouragement, and structure to succeed

Requirements

• Right to work in the UK
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
