Job Title: Nursery Assistant
Location: Newport 
Hours: Monday to Friday 08:30 - 15:30
Start Date: September 2025 

We are currently recruiting for a dedicated nursery assistant to provide a safe, stimulating and engaging space for little learners. We are seeking an individual who is creative, enthusiastic but also nurturing. 

As a nursery assistant you will play an essential part of supporting children in their development through play, creativity and learning activities. You will assist with daily routines, maintain a positive learning environment and ensure every child feels valued and cared for!

Key Responsibilities

• Engage children in educational and creative activities
• Support with the daily routine of the class - this will include supporting with meals, nap times and personal care routines
• Maintain a safe, clean and welcoming environment
• Work closely with other members of staff to ensure children's well-being is paramount in all areas of nursery life 
• Encourage social, emotional and cognitive development through play 
  
  

What are we looking for?

• A caring and patient approach to working with children
• Previous experience in a nursery or childcare setting (preferred but not essential)
• Willingness to complete any relevant training programmes such as a safeguarding qualification
• A positive and can-do attitude!
• Strong communication skills both verbal and written
