About the Role
PGCE & Education Students
We are currently seeking enthusiastic PGCE students and Final Year Education undergraduates to work across a variety of primary and secondary schools in Newport. If you’re approaching the end of your studies and looking to build confidence, gain valuable classroom experience, and enhance your CV, this is an ideal opportunity.
Working with us throughout the summer term will give you the chance to experience different school environments, develop your teaching style, and make a positive impression ahead of applying for your first teaching role in September. It’s a fantastic way to get your foot in the door and start building relationships with schools across the area!
What are we looking for:
The ideal educator for the role will be ambitious, hard-working and passionate. You will need to be adaptable, flexible and happy to work across classes from nursery to Year 6. Developing professional relationships with the staff and children will be a vital part of the position. Throughout the summer term, some schools will be happy for PGCE students to work as an unqualified teacher so confidence in leading classes effectively will be important.
Essential Requirements:
References from your 2x PGCE placements
Enhanced DBS registered on the update service
Registration with the EWC (you will need to update your EWC from TA to NQT in the summer term)
