Learning Mentor

Cardiff | £93 per day | Start: September 2026

We're looking for positive, patient and enthusiastic Learning Mentors to support children in primary schools across Cardiff from September 2026.
We're looking for caring, enthusiastic individuals who are passionate about helping children thrive. Whether you've worked in schools, nurseries, childcare, coaching or another role supporting young people, your experience could make a real difference in the classroom.

Your Day Could Include:

• Starting the day with a smile -Welcoming pupils into the classroom and helping them settle in, ready to learn.
• Learning side-by-side with children- Supporting children 1:1 or in small groups with reading, writing, maths and classroom activities.
• Turning "I can't" into "I'll try" - Giving encouragement, reassurance and praise that builds confidence and independence.
• Being a trusted adult - Listening, guiding and supporting children with friendships, emotions and everyday school life.
• Keeping the classroom flowing - preparing resources, supporting transitions between activities and helping lessons run smoothly.
• Making learning engaging - Joining in with phonics, storytelling, games, creative tasks, outdoor learning and hands-on activities.

• Childcare or Nurseries
• Youth Work
• Sports Coaching
• Support Work or Care
• Holiday Clubs
• Residential Care
• Education or Teaching Assistant roles
• Mentoring Young People
• Psychology or Education Graduates
• Volunteering with Children

What We're Looking For:

✔ Reliability and professionalism
✔ Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
