We are working with a welcoming primary school in Cardiff looking to appoint a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support a Year 4 pupil who experiences behavioural difficulties. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping children overcome challenges, build confidence and reach their full potential.
The Role:
- Provide dedicated support to a Year 4 pupil, helping them manage their behaviour and engage positively with learning.
- Build a trusting relationship with the pupil, offering consistent encouragement, guidance and reassurance throughout the school day.
- Support emotional regulation and help the pupil develop positive coping strategies.
- Work closely with the class teacher and wider school team to implement behaviour management strategies and maintain a positive learning environment.
- Encourage the pupil to develop independence, social skills and positive relationships with peers.
- Help create a calm, structured and supportive environment where the pupil feels safe and able to learn.
- Has experience working with children who display behavioural difficulties or emotional regulation challenges.
- Is calm, patient, resilient and confident when managing challenging situations.
- Can build positive relationships with children while maintaining clear and consistent boundaries.
- Has a proactive, nurturing approach and a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
- Is reliable, committed and able to work effectively as part of a team.
